Tai Quan Palace: A Fusion of Traditional Chinese and Modern Office Space

A Unique Design that Pushes Boundaries and Creates a Harmonious Balance

The inspiration for the Tai Quan Palace comes from the designer's commitment to preserving and honoring Chinese culture. By incorporating traditional Chinese elements, the design team aims to create a space that not only showcases the beauty of the past but also welcomes visitors with a sense of acceptance and warmth. One of the standout features of the Tai Quan Palace is the use of gold foil throughout the Chinese-style corridor. Over 26,000 pieces of gold foil were meticulously hand-glued to the walls, replacing the conventional use of paint. This luxurious yet understated gold color adds a touch of elegance and richness to the space, while the traditional Chinese double doors with Mortise and tenon joints further enhance the overall aesthetic.

The design team also paid careful attention to the office space itself, opting for a simpler and more minimalistic approach. Details such as iron and copper accents were incorporated to add visual interest and texture. The use of gold color to outline the space creates a striking contrast, connecting the Chinese-style corridor to the modern office area.

In terms of functionality, the Tai Quan Palace incorporates thoughtful design elements. The Chinese corridor entrance features a barrier-free ramp, ensuring accessibility for all. The gradual decrease in floor tiles creates a progressive connection between the Chinese and Western styles, while the use of full glass partitions at the end of the space not only expands the visual perspective but also transforms the space into a work of art.
